ACRU-MB
The ACRU-MBX is a compact version of the ACRU-LP/LPS which fits in any diesel, including jeeps,.
and even small Steamer tenders often leaving room for either the blower motor whistle or, removing that, make space for a QSI Tooter. See Sound Sets: Hooters & Tooters.
Its 6 Amp Relay capacity will operate either 1 or 2 AC motors without any Voltage loss.
Same prices and equipped as the ACRU-LP or -LPS. See paragraph 9 below for more details.
While it will accept an After Market sound system of your choice, see Sound Systems and Opts Prices, the extra bulk makes it a potentially challenging candidate.

AC powered ACRU Reverse Units for AC Motors
1) All ACRUs (except the ACRU-E*) will accept the QSI After Market plug-in Sound Systems without any modifications.
2) OEM:
Need a Reverse Unit to plug in your After Market Sound System? Chose an OEM Reverse unit and save $11.25. each.
OEM Reverse units require plugged in sound systems for operation.

4) Standard ACRUs
All ACRUs use relays to provide loss-less power to your loco's AC motor(s)
By comparison, solid state reverse units typically loose 1.5 Volts, preventing your loco from reaching its top speed.
AC motor Reverse units for all locos are ACRU-xxx
ACRU-E,-LP, -MB come with 5 different colored leads.
5) ACRU-E comes with 5 color coded wires & fits in small places, i.e. on the E-unit bracket. Good for 1 AC motor.

* Modification required to use an ACRU-E with an After Market Sound System. $50 - $100 depending upon layout.
The ACRU-E is no longer produced.

The ACRU-MB is a compact version of the ACRU-LP which fits in many diesels, including jeeps.
and some Steamers, usually in the tender. Requires drilling a hole for the mounting screw.
Its 6 Amp capacity will operate either 1 or 2 AC motors.
For Diesels:
RU-107A ACRU-MBD: $32.95 Comes with 5 color coded wires.
For Steamers:
RU-107B ACRU-MBS: $39.20 Comes with 5 black wires tether with M/F plug
Dimensions: 2.46" L, 1.32" W, 1.54" H at highest point.
Mounting hole is down 0.49" from top of relays (Opposite dimension is 0.89"from opposite edge), centered along the width and set back from the edge 0.84" Mounting hole clearance from the relays is 0.44".
Clearance between the relays and the center of the mounting hole is 0.44".
Comes with a 3/4" 4-40 pan head screw, a 1/4" #4 spacer and a 4-40 nut.
The Bridge Rectifier is the mounting surface against
which the washer & nut raise the mounting surface to be flush with
the tops of the relays.
It can be mounted to the chassis or a bracket of your choice.
The Bridge is not electrically active in the AC version.
10) All ACRUs come with 1 set of RF Noise Suppression Caps for 1 AC motor.
RF Noise Suppression Cap set. For units with 2 motors, add $1.45 for 2nd motor.
11) For the OEM version of the ACRUs, subtract $11.25 ea from the above prices.
The OEM version requires a QSI/MTH After Market Sound System to be plugged in to operate.
The ACRU-MBx is available as an OEM product.
