Here is a
diesel riding on a set of Jak Rollers. This diesel requires two bearing blocks per truck. A total of four bearing blocks are used to support this engine.
This engine's power is continuously transferred from the energized third rail
via the center rail pickup.

Amazingly, each block will
support over 50 pounds!
Supporting the
bearing blocks is a Jak Dynamic Running Base which is designed to be
used in conjunction with a set of Jak Rollers.

The Trackless Rail System
consists of individual JAK Bearing Blocks. Four blocks comprise a set of Jak Rollers. They are manufactured in HO, S,
O, G, and Standard Gauge sizes. JAK Rollers are manufactured from
robust materials and last at least one lifetime, and probably more. The rollers are placed directly on energize-able railroad track, and the engine
is placed on top. The rollers are fully insulated, and can be used
on either 2 and 3 rail track. Sealed ball bearings will never wear out under
normal use, and no maintenance is required. Typically you will need either
2 or 4 bearing blocks, 2 Bearing Blocks are used for a single expansion engine, and 4 Bearing Blocks are
used for a double expansion engine (articulated) or a 2 truck diesel. The Jak Rollers are sold in sets of 4 Bearing Blocks. Aside
from just a great testing tool, the
Generation II
JAK Rollers are equipped with built in
wheel cleaning pads. The wheel cleaning pads are a natural material that
will not damage your model railroad equipment. The cleaning pads will
polish the wheels on your trains without the need for any cleaning solution. Note: The wheel cleaning pads are not to be used with traction tires.
To facilitate this, the cleaning pads are easily removed from the roller frame.

Custom Dynamic Running Bases by JAK Tool And Model LLC
The Dynamic Running Base in conjunction with JAK Rollers is the best system for stationary engine display. The DRB allows the model railroader to run their locomotives in place with ease in a finished and sophisticated display. DRB’s are available in HO, S, O, G, and Standard Gauge. The DRB is supplied with track to fit the scale you plan to operate. The base comes standard in natural red oak with a quick connect wire terminal. The DRB uses standard JAK Rollers that mount in the engine running pit which is crafted into the base. Once mounted in the pit, the JAK Rollers conduct power to the engine, allowing it to run. The rollers are also adjustable back and forth the length of the pit to accommodate different engines’ wheel arrangements. The JAK Rollers can be removed from the base if you with to run an engine on a workbench without the DRB. DRB’s can be custom designed to your engines needs. While some engines have similar dimensions, we can only ensure your base will support the engine you have supplied the dimensions form below. Since every base is custom made to your specifications, we need some information before we can begin the design. Click here to go to the Jak Tool site and download the Custom DBR Order Form. Print out page 2 and fill out the required locomotive information on Page 2. Using the diagram of an articulated locomotive, specify the first three dimensions that are required to design your base, and an optional 4th dimension is required if you need a base of a specific length. Measure each dimension to the nearest 1/8” and round up if necessary.
