DC Capabilities:

Any of the 28 DC/QARC features in the Quantum Magnum can be accessed by a Quantum Engineer. To meed the high current requirements of your train, the Quantum Engineer signals must pass thru a Quantum Engineer Booster. This will enable your high current train to operate on any DC powered track that has adequate power for your needs.

The minimum configuration involves items 1 & 2 below.

1)   A decent variable DC Power Supply, called a Controller, 10 Amps, minimum
The best on the market is Bridgeworks Contollers
See:  Bridgewerks Magnum Power Supply Controllers for flawless DC operation

2)   A QSI Quantum Magnum Decoder in your locomotive

There are two DC ways to control the loco's sounds and operations.
Multiple locos will operate flawlessly together.

   a. DC:
For Whistle/Horn and Bell sounds, use the polarity Reverse switch on your
Power Supply Controller.

Often preferred on home layouts:
Depending upon your Controller, Remote operation may be available.

   b. DC/QARC:

Provides control of all 28 sounds and operations, including the above mentioned
Whistle/Horn and Bell without the expense of going to DCC.

For QARC control of track power, Add these 2 items to your Basic DC setup:

   c. Quantum Engineer. See:
Quantum Engineer
   d. Quantum Engineer Booster. See Quantum Engineer Booster

All the features of your Power Supply Controller are retained, and can be
intermixed with the QARC signals.
I.E. Speed Control and Polarity Reversal for Bell and Whistle operation.

SUPER CAP
The locomotive sounds can be extended for 30 seconds after power turn off with the use of a Super Cap installed on the Quantum Magnum.

An Off-On switch is included as the Super Cap must be disconnected for doing Reset, Programming and DCC operations.

Now on to DC & DC/QARC Operation
