Upgrade QS-3000 board to send 2nd CC logic signal "downstairs". $5.
b) Upgraded bottom board to operate coil coupler by adding a 2nd CC driver.
When chassis is present: $32. (Coil coupler wiring is changed.) Without Chassis: $30.

5) Coil coupler for most locos: $10. Same design as used in most diesels.

6) Upgrades for 1994 thru mid 1995 MTH locos:

See Sound System Upgrades: MTH PS1 Upgrades

Top Boards, priced without chip:
7) "C-5". Has the 237 uP, used $50. Accommodates QS2p and all 1994 & 1996 MTH chips.

8) "C-4". Has the 233 uP, used $15. Compatible with 1994 series chips.
Not compatible with chips in the MTH 1996 or later series or QS2p.
For those converting from a working 233 board, a $5 credit is issued for turning one in for each C-5 (237) ProtoSounds1 Sound board purchased, either separately or in conjunction with an MTH QSI Sound System.

9) QS-3000, long pin, with QS-3000 chip: $149.
     QS-3000, long pin, without QS-3000 chip: $104.
For operation of 2nd CC (Front) by transformer control, add $5 for QS-3000 board mod.
This mod works in conjunction with bottom board 2nd CC driver mod. See paragraph 4 above.

For all board-with-chip or just chip purchases, specify loco in order to receive proper sound set.

10) Bottom boards:
"P-4" Bottom board with Power Supply updates: $45.
AC&DC Motor Reverse Units: PS1 Motor Currents in generic form is rated at 2.5 Amps.

Bottom board motor current upgrades, see Motor Current & Loads

Requires use of After Market chip.
Also requires and coil coupler modification in top board: $10, for both Front and Rear.
When used with steamers requiring chuff sync, a QS1C5 top board with extension pins is used to avoid having to upgrade a C-5 board, which would be $35.

"P-3" Bottom board is obsolete.

12) Replacement MTH chips:
QS2p: $35

13) QS-3000 chips: All QS-3000 chips will work in either the short or long pin QS-3000 boards: $45.

Many of the MTH chips are available in QS-3000. Please call to check.

14) User manuals available:
QS2p: $12.00. Free with purchase and shipped with any QS2p
product purchase.
QS-3000: The original versions of these manuals are available on line at QS Industries.
