Titan UCS Overview: UCS Configurations

The page behind the button to the left labeled Titan Overview includes two links, one to Tony's train Exchange and one to QSI Solutions, each having more information on the Titan and a primer on DCC.

While DCC is not an operating system of interest to AC operators, it does show the variety of features most of which will be available in the AC operating system, albeit under a different method of access.

QSI Titan UCS Train Control
Sound System Decoders

For use in all S, O and G gauge locos having DC motor(s).

The Titan UCS designs uses the Atlas factory template of 4 holes, which are in many Atlas O & G Gauge locomotives.

The After Market boards can be used in all previously sound equipped locos, by removing the existing electronics, drilling 4 new mounting holes and then proceeding with the installation wiring.

The Titan UCS is available in three different versions:

Titan UCS AC
After Market AC Powered Track
Running with AC Software

The bottom board makes the necessary conversions of AC track power to DC and provides the AC control signals to the microprocessor.

The bottom board has the socket for accepting the auxiliary
TMCC module R2-LC

Titan UCS-M
AC Powered Track

Running with AC-M Software
The definitive drop-in replacement for MTH ProtoSounds (1) locos.

The UCS-M design uses the factory mounted arrangement of the original ProtoSounds1
Train Control Sound System.

The bottom board has the socket for accepting the auxiliary
TMCC module R2-LC

Titan UCS DC
After Market DC Powered Track
Running with DC software

The bottom board makes the necessary adjustments to the DC track power to provide power and control signals to the microprocessor.

The bottom board has
has the socket for accepting the auxiliary GWire receiver.

1) AC operation is achieved by using the AC Software with the UCS AC After Market board set.
2) AC MTH operation is achieved by using the AC-M Software with the UCS-M board set.
3) DC operation is achieved by using the DC Software with either the UCS AC or DC After Market board set.
4) A source of R2-LC Receivers:
Go to Electric RR and look under Products, Accessories.

More on the Titan UCS-M
The MTH ProtoSounds1 drop-in replacement

The definitive drop-in replacement for MTH ProtoSounds(1) locos.

Save the mounting bracket, support block and associated screws supporting the ProtoSonds1. They will be needed to mount the UCS-M.

Same physical size as the ProtoSounds1 board.

Same light and coil coupler plug-ins as the 1996 thru 2000 boards.
Forward and Reverse 1.5 Volt Directional lighting and 2.2 Volt Marker Lights.
Micro-Processor timed Marker/Strobe LED.
NEW FEATURE: Operator controlled Smoke Unit On/Off.

The bottom board has the socket for accepting the auxiliary TMCC module RC-L2

A wiring kit will be available for the 1994-1995 locomotives.

A wiring kit will be available for all Premier F-3s and E-8s to properly connect the existing light boards to the UCS-M.
Alternatively, the lamps can be connected directly to the Titan.

All units will have dual coil coupler operating capability, to be used as needed.

Removable Coil Coupler section to be snapped off when used in non coil coupler units, such as Doodlebugs, Subway cars, and Streetcars.

The Snap off coil coupler board has the necessary wiring holes to make connections for remote use in locomotives that are cramped for space.
