Titan UCS Overview: UCS Software

Titan UCS AC software capabilities

The QSI Titan AC software effortlessly switches between AC/AC TMCC and DCC by noticing what type of power is applied at Power Up.

The QSI Titan AC software is designed to operate with any one of 3 control environments.
They are:

1) AC
Includes operation of Whistle and Bell by using polarity bias.
AC Polarity Bias is the operative method of setting the included Reset values.
They will also be accessible by CV'S in DCC.

2) AC/TMCC
With a fixed AC Voltage on the track, the TMCC RF signals will operate the loco(s) consisted and/or independent, commiserate  with the power available.

3) DCC
  DCC Service mode.
In the Titan AC, software is provided for downloading new software as it becomes available.

Hence your locos will never become obsolete.

Thee is no DCC Operation mode in the AC Software.

4) GWire DCC Not available for the Titan AC.

Titan UCS DC software capabilities

The QSI Titan DC software effortlessly switches between DC/DC QARC and DCC by noticing what type of power is applied at Power Up.

The QSI Titan DC software is designed to operate with any one of 4 built in control environments.
They are:

1) DC
Includes operation of Whistle and Bell by using polarity reversal.

2) DC/QARC
Add the Quantum Engineer to get DDC like control of almost all features for operating 1 loco or 1 loco consist.
DC opertors can use polarity reversal to operate bell or whistle.
In DC/QARC uses very rapid controlled polarity reversal to activate, deactivate up to 28 features.

If more than 3 Amps is necessary for good operation add a Quantum Engineer Booster and get up to 50 Amp capacity.
(Link to explain)

3) DCC
Both Service and Operations modes are active.
Operate multiple trains in the same electrical environment. When in DCC, locos will ignore any polarity reversals or QARC signals.

4) GWire DCC

Used with very large railroads or when track RF interference is excessive.

Light operation, in all modes:
Headlight
 Backup Light
MARS Light Front
MARS Light Rear
Marker Lights Front
Marker Lights Rear
Cab Lights
Ditch Lights
Firebox glow*
Up to 12 outputs, all with a common return, (Not Chassis Gnd.)
*Firebox Glow requires 2outputs.
Programming provides suitable adjustments for LED or Filament bulbs from 1.5 Volts to 5 Volts
in several operating patterns:
Steady On
On in desired direction only
On in neural
Dimable
Flashing
Blinking
Flickering

AC Software Operation
     Single Train:
        1)  AC

     Single or multiple trains:
        2)  TMCC, by installing a Lionel R2-LC on the
             Titan UCS or UCS-M
             Need a TMCC receiver?
Go to Electric RR
             and look under Products, Accessories.

AC also operates:
 1 or 2 coil couplers
 1 Smoke Unit: On-Off

        3)  DCC
             Control Signals thru the track
             The AC software provides
DCC Service mode
             for upgrading the software.

GWire DCC
Not available for the Titan AC.

Operating in DCC requires changing the track power supply to DC.
See BRIDGEWERKS for an example of excellent Power Controllers.

DC Software Operation

        1)  DC:
Single Train:
1 or more consisted locos. All will behave the
same as set by their CVs.

        2)  DC/QARC;
Single Train:
1 or more consisted locos. All will behave the
same as set by their CVs
.
Much more operational flexibility than just DC.

        3)  DCC:  Povides both Service and Operations
                        modes
             Single or multiple trains:

             Control Signals thru the track
             Method for upgrading locomotive software.

        4) GWire:
Provides for control of up to 15 loco
                           consists all operating simultaneously.

Track power is DC.
See BRIDGEWERKS for an example of excellent Power Controllers.

When in DCC, locos will ignore any Polarity Reversals, QARC, or TMCC signals.
When operating in any given environment, all control signals specific to a different environment will be ignored.
